Before you book
Who do you work best with?
People approaching or already in retirement with several decisions in play at once: when to retire, what is safe to spend, when to claim Social Security, whether to convert to a Roth, how much market risk to carry, and what passes on. If that describes you, the introductory call is a good use of twenty minutes.
What does it cost?
The introductory call and the discovery meeting are complimentary. Planning work is quoted before it starts: you see the scope and the cost in writing, and you decide from there. Investment management is fee-based and disclosed in full.
What should I bring to the discovery meeting?
Recent investment and retirement account statements, a Social Security estimate if you have one, and last year’s tax return. If none of it is handy, come anyway and we will start with the conversation.
I already have an advisor. Is a second opinion awkward?
It is common, and nothing has to move for the conversation to happen. Many people start with a review of what they already own and decide afterward.
